If you’re one of the lucky ones that was able to obtain an invite to Google Inbox, you’re probably an avid user of Google’s products. Believe it or not, a ton of people buy iPhones and still feel the need to use a few of Google’s products here and there. That’s why Google had to launch Inbox with support for iOS and Android. Once news first started to spread about Inbox, I never once took the time to figure out which platforms it would be coming to first. I already knew that Google refuses to support any of Microsoft’s mobile products. Google makes money from iOS, so I knew Google wouldn’t be selfish and leave those Apple users out. Android was the obvious no brainer.

I’ve had access to Google Inbox for about four days now. Until today, I never had a compatibility issue while using Google Inbox on my Moto G or computer. That of course changed once I realized how much resources Google Chrome takes up on my computer. That’s when I opted to use Opera as my browser of choice on my laptop. To my sad surprise, Google Inbox is only available on chrome when it comes to desktop browsers.

I’m not quite sure what’s so special about Google Inbox that it has to be so browser specific that they couldn’t take the time to add support for any other browsers, if even just Internet Explorer or Safari.

While Google Inbox only works for Chrome, they message I got did say that Inbox will be coming to more browsers soon. The first time I used Inbox, I found it widely difficult to use for my email preferences. I soon realized that it’s possible I only felt that way because I needed to take some time to adapt to a new method of emailing. As a result, I promised that I would use Inbox and Inbox alone for at least 30 days. For the time being, that means that I will have to kick Opera to the side until Google adds support.

By the way, I’m just 4 days in and I can’t see myself going back.
